Still pretty insane, although, quite oddly, a healthy mixture of jerumizing, IRCing, and a visit to my orthropedic surgeon have somewhat grounded me in a state of somewhat benevolent happiness. My apathy can't keep a smile from my face when my homeade tutorials gain international attention. Even just the little things like this and my much sought after anjuta packages make me happy to know that at least the work I put toward this site is for more than mere personal edification.
I received the newest strokes CD quite randomly from my mother as a gift yesterday while I was home visiting the knee doctor. The inspiration apparently stemmed from one of my blog entries talking about how I had to go get it, or that it was going to be good because the sttrokes are awesome, or something along those lines. Joked with co-workers that perhaps I should start talking about how much I like other things.
The gba development has been going rather well; I'm pretty much caught up to runaway coding maniac Wei, who has grabbed the project by the horns and fairly adeptly wrestled it to the ground, while I was merely prancing around the meat of the work with my red and yellow cape. At least I didn't get speared in the ass. We wanted a galaga demo to show today, but It simply isn't happening, as we do not yet have enemies or ballistics of any sort. My starfield looks quite good, but as always development takes quite longer than you'd expect, and so I would have probably had to work straight through this morning from Friday to get both the transparent nebulae over the planets idea and the intro screen to come into reality. No bother though; we certainly have a lot more going for us than other groups. I hope that we don't get grilled on our organization but instead face questions about the GBA system itself or game design principals; in the latter we are quite hackers, and in the former we really could give a damn.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. The music of the moment has been a mixture of the cowboy bebop OST, a healthy mix of classical music and operatic niceties (mostly provided by the excellent orchestrations of dragon quest 1 - 7, the incomparable Giant Robo OST's, and the exquisite Battle Royale OST), and of course the ever relaxing Pizzicato Five. Add in some Nakaido "Chabo" Reichi, and you have yourself a deal.
