Every so often, random people stumble upon something brilliantly useful. In this case, it comes in the form of x2vnc, which Jerumu deserves 50% of the credit for (the other 50% going towards the author). Anything that allows me to control a machine running OSX, Win2k, and Linux 2.4.21 with one set of keyboard and mouse and no extra hardware can win a link on my site any day. However, things do not come so easily.
The x2vnc thing works quite well Linux -> win2k, but Linux -> osx it is very sluggish. In my search to find out what's wrong, a clever sourceforge poster remarked that it seemed as though osxVNC was generating images for the client, even though x2vnc does not require them or even request them. All of the extra processing time makes the mouse and sometimes the keyboard (especially on repeats) very sluggish. Doh!
I have been looking for the source of osxVNC on their sourceforge page, but can't seem to find it. I don't think I'd be able to fix it in an appropriate way; but I could probably find the function responsible for taking the screenshots and just disable it completely. If I could figure out how to compile native OSX stuff, I'd have a x2vnc only osxVNC rather quickly (couldn't take more than a few hours!) So, we'll see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed!
Classes started. Romantic Literature is not going to cover Blake, which is just a shame, because Blake's probably my 2nd favorite poet to Mr. Poe. Thing's like London, The Tyger, and The Poison Tree just get me going. Foreign Policy is looking to be interesting, not only because me and the professor don't always see eye to eye, but because sometimes we do. That will make it most interesting; not knowing what kind of reaction I'll get out of him. Note to self: refrain from calling him idealistic from now on.
The CS classes I have are rather "blah" in nature, especially Senior Design (Software Engineering), which seems to be a total waste of time so far. Its not that I have no respect for these software design processes, because I kinda really don't, but its just that the class is going to involve a lot of work I could really care less about. I'd rather be doing this crap and learning something useful at the same time, instead of doing something useless and learning something which, while it might not be equally useless, isn't something you can really gauge the use of accurately.
Somehow I'm in graphics again, with DinhQ. I was expecting a Chinese man, and instead got an Indonesian woman who looks like she might weigh about the same as my right leg. She seems to know what she's doing, and speaks impeccable english, so that should be pretty fun. Night class with Jerumu, can't be all bad.
Cuthell class will be interesting, especially with what's happened recently in the Middle East. And finaly, my awesome Rugby class (it might not be detectable, but there was the slightest hint of sarcasm there) and Comp Arch starts tomorow. Lets hope that they don't suck all that much. I don't know where I'm going to get shorts with a damn string in them though.
Anyway, I'm sorry, I can't take a compliment. I am a fucking dead sexy bitch, and all you ladies out there should be wishing you had the opportunity to jump my bones.
Its so easy to be a complete ass when you don't have a significant other; my stupid gestures reflect badly only on my parents! Flipping into Omlette mode; oddest dream last night, I dreamt that I could no longer run at an acceptable speed, and had to jump around in a bit of a hover much like Morrowind. Well, after so long of this, and the branches in the trees providing some nice resistance on the way home from the gym, I was able to jump like an absolute mad man. So me and Christian tested my ultra hover jumping abilities outside; it turns out I could leap small tables in a single bound. It was amazing, and then John Paul woke me up with news that Jerumu's computer was crashing the campus network. Oops! Today's word of the day is Fuchspiele!
