You know what they say; One new theme deserves another. For the most part, it's true.
It has come to my attention that I made my previous post at the pinnacle of foresight, as the following has happened since then, seemingly rectifying my omens of good things to come.
- I found my fucking remote
- I found my fucking suit jacket
- I cashed my checks
- I filled out my timesheets
- I went to the gym
I suppose if it had been a perfect week, I'd have gotten a new fridge, fixed my windows, uncloged the shower, watched some anime and banged some girl; but we can't have everything, and I've long since adapted my personality so that I can settle for the little things and let the big things slide.
A few projects are flying around, and its quite hard to keep up with all of them without going insane! First, lets talk about the gunbound-esque fog of war worms extravaganza clone that seems at this point to be planned for PC with the utilization of pyGame. It all started on a fateful night, me, Shizer and Defcon 1 (reference) were chillin in the chapter room thinking: "Why the hell aren't we coding a game for senior design?". So the worms w/ fog of war thing started to be thrown around.
Then came the terrible GBA idea, that while fascinating, seems to reek of a type of delightful failure that I'm sure all 3 of us would relish at the opprotunity to achieve. Of course, I'd rather spend hours on end researching these projects than do anything that I was actually involved in; like graphics homework.
While I was busy doing nothing and yet accomplishing so much, Softpanorama got the once over again from me as I was eager to learn about different philosophies than the watered down OOP shit we get here. I also got up to page 5 of the JTEX tutorial, and made an incredible ammount of advancement on the JTEX program itself; a partial rewrite and almost full re-organization, now with working file opening and working saving of existing files. I can definitely say that the construction of this site has been central in my comfort with python in order to speed the development of this program and especially the tutorial. Of course, there's the redesign, in which a theme I call "High Contrast Low Visibility" replaces one I called "Sand". Sometime in the course of the next random length of time I'll get around to adding some links so that you can switch back and forth between one look and another.
Hopefully, I'll get around to:
- Finishing "save as" in JTEX
- Adding another page in the tutorial
- Adding the source to JTEX in the code section
by the end of next week. Enjoy.
