@jmoiron@dgryski Is the programmers brain included in static analysis tooling?
@jmoironRe: https://t.co/76xYgnC2vd
@jmoiron@chimeracoder @_myitcv I trust your judgement on that. Regardless, this was the position from which I wrote my notes, and I wanted to make that clear (among other biases).
@jmoiron@_myitcv I'm reading between the lines, taking into consideration the authors of this design document and aspects of the way that go modules and type aliases have gone. IMHO, Go2 is a serious project and the core team will not ship it until a novel solution to generics is found.
@jmoironmy unsolicited reaction to the go generics draft https://t.co/6ARFWKCBZk
@jmoiron@bryanl @xaprb I think it comes off as a bit presumptuous.
@jmoironwe're gonna regret all this yaml

@jmoiron@rakyll @dbentley @chimeracoder I can agree with a lot of this. For me, the cultural aspect of sharing the same scale as everyone else outweighs these benefits. Like gofmt :)
@jmoiron@dbentley @rakyll @chimeracoder What are the benefits of F? I grew up with it, but have fully converted to C and don't miss it.
@jmoironimagine if programming languages were all just templates that rendered asm, but instead of asm it's yaml and instead of templates it's yaml, and that's basically the k8s ecosystem
@jmoironRelying on tracebacks for error reporting is how you end up with a 50 line traceback for a failed dns lookup that is 95% irrelevant library stack context and 0% actual hostname attempted.
@jmoiron@darron There's also https://t.co/3meJRS8U6x which is well worth checking out.
@jmoiron@dotpem afaict this doesn't work through whatever kube is doing
@jmoironkube friends, is there an equivalent to the `enter ~ .` esc sequence https://t.co/MEYnU0u8ot~. (link broken because computers) in ssh for when you've kubectl exec -it'd into something and then the connection hangs?
@jmoiron*slaps roof of cloud native infrastructure* this bad boy can fit so many fucking layers in it
