@jmoiron @elithrar The visuals are amazing, and I don't mind departing from the books, but it somehow lacks atmosphere. After our first introduction to Trantor, the focus shifts to palace intrigue. Terminus is a small outpost. Synnax is a small settlement. It all feels very small.

@jmoiron @mholt6 @GMMeyer Kinda similar issue with haptics, where I can turn them off for the keyboard or w/e, but to disable haptic response from apps (eg touching a youtube video to bring up the UI) I have to.. entirely disable all vibration, which I depend upon for notifications.

@jmoiron @GMMeyer The gestures work mostly. Swipe to go back is an attempt to try and get rid of the buttons, but I love the buttons and hate not having them (that includes on iOS)

@jmoiron Also, forcing me to have haptics on in some way because I want vibrate notifications is bad.

@jmoiron Android 12 gesture system where swipe left and swipe right both mean "back" makes no sense and it being either/or makes me miss the hybrid gesture/3 button system from 11 almost immediately.

@jmoiron @copyconstruct May be a little biased, but I've found tracing to be really useful at chasing outlier latency. It also will often reveal that you are not measuring something that is nonetheless taking significant time. It's hard to track parallel sub requests with logs.

@jmoiron I keep reading developers who praise Go's simplicity but have ultimately decided it's not for them because they've grown to find it "patronizing", and I wonder, do they sometimes just pick up a hammer and think "this piece of shit thinks I'm an idiot."
